Description
This academic paper explores the feasibility of D&L Industries, a company based in the Philippines, expanding their operations by creating a manufacturing plant and country office to produce Biorez, compostable resins, outside of the Philippines. The study initially considered nine countries based on their proximity to the Philippines and their recent efforts towards environmentally friendly consumer materials. The research used five indicators, including GDP, Corruption Perception Index, Trade Openness Index, Carbon Dioxide Emission per Capita, and Global Sustainability Competitiveness Index, to identify Vietnam and India as the two most suitable countries for expansion. The analysis at the microeconomic level, using the supply and demand curve, demonstrated that Vietnam would be more beneficial due to consumer acceptance, consumption, lower input prices, and favorable policies. At the macroeconomic level, Vietnam showed more stable ratings in Trade Openness, while India had a more positive Corruption Perception Index. Overall, the study concluded that Vietnam would be the most viable location for establishing a country office and manufacturing plant for Biorez.
