Description

Abstract
Additive manufacturing (AM) also known as 3D printing has developed rapidly in recent years. Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is among the most used methods in additive manufacturing due to its availability of compatible materials, ease of design, and reduced wastage. However, parts produced by 3D printing technology are affected by different parameters such as printing Orientation, temperature, printing speed, etc. The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in 3D printing creates new optimization techniques to improve the properties of parts produced by 3D printing technology. This work uses AI to study the influences of printing parameters on the mechanical properties of polylactic acid (PLA) and predict the optimum parameters. The results indicate that AI-predicted parameters in 3D printing optimize the mechanical properties of printed parts by about 40%.
