Description

THE  WORKSHOP HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO A TO-BE-DECIDED DATE

A wealth of data is now available to test models of the universe and cosmography. Recent results have prompted a discussion whether some of these data sets are fully compatible. Ultimately, with the current tension, departing from the standard paradigms may turn out to be the only reasonable solution. New observational channels also have the potential to impact on these questions, notably gravitational wave data.

This workshop aims at reviewing the theoretical and experimental aspects behind the current tensions, forecasting the potential impact of the forthcoming gravitational wave data, and discussing the most appealing solutions to the puzzle.

Three lectures of two hours each will introduce the main themes of the workshop:

  • Early-universe measurements
  • Late-universe measurements
  • Standard and dark sirens in GR and modified GR

Technical talks will follow broadly along these categories. The afternoons are planned with an informal schedule to allow participants to freely interact and start new collaborations.

Participants asking for childcare should register as soon as possible and not later than March 4th.

The list of confirmed speakers includes:

  • Dillon Brout (Univ. of Pennsylvania)
  • Hsin-Yu Chen (Harvard Univ.)
  • Asta Heinesen (École Normale Supérieure de Lyon)
  • Nicola Tamanini (AEI Potsdam)
  • Gianmassimo Tasinato (Swansea Univ.)
  • more names will be added once confirmed
The workshop is kindly supported by the COST Action "GWverse" and the University of Stavanger.
