Travel
Sola Airport lies about 11km to the southwest from the University. For those arriving by train, the central station in the center of town of Stavanger lies about 5km northeast of the University.
Airport bus: There is a separate bus service from the airport to the center of town, "Flybussen". If you wish to take this service to the hotel Ydalir at the University, note that only half of the buses go by the University. The safest option is to ask the bus driver. It is also possible to use the regular bus service (Kolumbus). However this takes longer and requires changes.
The bus also goes by the University on it's way to the airport. Follow this link for the location. It stops hourly at 21 minutes past the hour, with the last bus at 20:21. From the city center the buses are more frequent, at every 20 minutes.
Taxi-cabs: It is possible to reach the University or city center by taking a taxi-cab directly from the airport or from the central station. This is by far the most expensive option.
Bus service (and city bikes): There is a regular bus service in town called Kolumbus with green buses. Follow this link for ticket information. The easiest ticket option is probably to download the "Kolumbus Billett" app. You can also pay with cash on the bus. The buses go very regularly from the city center to the University campus. There is also an option to use the app to rent electric city bikes.

Accomodation
The University has special rates at Hotel Ydalir (hello@ydalir.no, +47 48133100) located on campus. If you contact the reception and give them the code UIS041223 you get a 10% discount. The code is valid if you book your room between October 1st and November 24th.
