A Water Distribution Network (WDN), including tanks, centrifugal pumps, valves, pipes, water level sensors, flow and pressure sensors, will be studied by expressing the actuators and the sensors by Discrete Event System (DES) models in the Ramadge-Wonham framework. DES models of the actuators and sensors, in the presence of faults will be developed. The desired behavior of the system, in the presence of faults, will be expressed in the form of rules for a parametric number of actuators and sensors and imposed to the cyber-physical system of the water network by developing an appropriate decentralized supervisor control scheme. The properties of the parametric controlled system will be proved. The proposed supervisors will be implemented in the framework of IEC 61131-3 standard for application to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
