Description

The Lorentzian Lichnerowicz Conjecture is an analogue of the celebrated Ferrand-Obata Theorem in Riemannian geometry. It posits that if the conformal group of a closed Lorentzian manifold does not act isometrically for any metric in the conformal class, then the metric is conformally flat. I will present recent progress on this conjecture and related problems, with a focus on dimension three.
