Effective Strategies: Proactive and Holistic Approaches
Title: Proactive and Holistic Strategies for Preventing Bullying
Abstract: This presentation will discuss effective strategies for preventing bullying, focusing on proactive measures such as building cohesive classroom communities. TGL’s holistic approach includes creating safe systems, empowering adults, and fostering supportive peer groups. Practical insights into successful implementation strategies will be shared. Central to TGL’s practice is systems theory, which helps understand and develop learning organizations by considering the entirety of the learning environment. Key concepts include wholeness, relationships, and circularity. -
Case Study: Experiences from a Supported School
Title: Case Study: Implementing Anti-Bullying Strategies in Schools
Abstract: This presentation will feature a case study from a school that has successfully implemented TGL’s strategies. It will provide a firsthand account of the challenges faced and the positive changes observed. TGL operates on the understanding that unsafe environments foster bullying, and the principles guiding their work focus on norms, values, and attitudes. The best defense against bullying is to build robust, safe communities where students feel they belong. TGL promotes community-building didactics that integrate both academic and social work.
